First glimpse of the next-gen Audi A5 has been revealed

The new Audi A5 will replace the current A4, which has been discontinued. The company will offer it in Sportback and Avant body styles. It is anticipated that the new Audi Q5, A6 e-tron, and A5 will be launched together in the Indian market.

Audi has released the official teaser of the new-generation Audi A5 Sportback ahead of its world premiere on July 16, 2024. The new Audi A5 will replace the current A4, which has been discontinued. The company will offer it in Sportback and Avant body styles.

The German automaker has also announced that it will launch the all-electric A6 e-tron in the market at the end of this month, while the next-generation Audi Q5 is also set to be launched by the end of the year.

Design Update

The teaser sketch for the Audi A5 shows the rear profile of the Avant version. It features full-width taillights, which are likely to include the brand’s OLED technology. The raked rear windshield and a prominent spoiler also give this model a sportier look compared to the current A4 Avant. The A5 will shift from the A4’s three-box sedan body style to a sportier notchback style.

Engine and Performance

The new Audi A5 is expected to come with both a plug-in hybrid version and mild-hybrid technology, depending on the market. The A5 PHEV is anticipated to offer a purely electric range of around 100 kilometers. However, there is no likelihood of an all-electric A5. Instead, Audi will bring a completely new EV of similar size to the current A4 (A4 e-tron), expected to arrive by the end of the decade.

It is expected that the new Audi Q5, A6 e-tron, and A5 will come to the Indian market, with these models starting to arrive early next year. The automaker will first introduce the all-new Q6 e-tron, which made its global debut earlier this year and could be the brand’s first locally assembled EV in the country.
