Hyundai Motor India Limited, the country’s second-largest car manufacturer, has maintained its position. The Korean-origin company recorded total monthly sales of 70,078 units in October 2024, including both domestic and export sales.
Hyundai’s Record Sales
Last month’s sales marked the third-highest monthly sales in the company’s history since its inception. In the Indian market alone, the company sold 55,568 units, while 14,510 units were exported to foreign markets. The company reported a 2% growth in total sales last month.
Exports Also Grew
In October 2024, domestic sales reached 55,568 units, a 0.8% increase over October 2023. Meanwhile, exports rose to 14,510 units, an 8.6% increase compared to October 2023. Thus, both domestic sales and exports grew for the company.
Strong Demand for Hyundai Creta
Out of the total sales, Hyundai saw the highest demand for its SUVs, selling 37,902 SUVs in total last month, with 17,497 units being Hyundai Creta alone. Additionally, 8,261 CNG cars were delivered.
What the Company Said
Hyundai India’s full-time director and Chief Operating Officer, Tarun Garg, stated, "We observed strong demand for our SUV portfolio during the festive season, leading to our highest-ever monthly SUV sales, reaching 37,902 units, including the highest-ever monthly domestic sales of 17,497 units for the Hyundai Creta."
He further added that SUVs remain the cornerstone of their lineup, representing an impressive 68.2% of their total monthly sales in October 2024, with equal reach in both urban and rural markets. He mentioned that the company is also continuing to expand its CNG reach.
