Renault claims that this vehicle has been developed in just three years instead of the usual four. This electric car is the first car launched by Renault Group's standalone EV subsidiary, Ampere.
The production of the Renault 5 will take place in Douai, France, as part of the automotive and component car factories' electricity cluster. The batteries will come from Envision AESC starting next year, which will also include electric motors from Cleon, France. Renault claims that it will take 9 hours to make the Renault 5, which is faster than Tesla.
