Kia has recently launched its most awaited Syros SUV. However, the company has not yet revealed the price of this SUV. Bookings for the Kia Syros will begin on January 3, 2025, and deliveries will start in February. Regarding features, design, and safety, the Syros and Sonet share many similarities.
According to Kia Motors, the new Syros will be positioned between the Seltos and Sonet. The features and specifications of the Kia Sonet and Syros are quite similar. This has left customers confused about which SUV is better. Therefore, today we will compare both cars.
Powertrain
The new Kia Syros SUV has a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine. Its petrol trims offer the option of a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, while the diesel engine comes with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
On the other hand, the Kia Sonet features a 1.2-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, it offers a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. There is also a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine available.
Features
The new Kia Syros comes equipped with a 12.3-inch dual-screen setup for infotainment and driver display, dual-zone AC, a 4-way powered driver seat, ambient lighting, ventilated front and rear seats, a sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and power windows.
On the other hand, the Kia Sonet features a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver display, a 7-speaker Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, connected car technology, a sunroof, cruise control, and keyless entry.
Safety
The new Kia Syros is equipped with advanced features such as 6 airbags, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), and a 360-degree camera.
In comparison, the Kia Sonet also offers 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, Electronic Stability Control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and Level-1 ADAS.
Price
In the Indian market, the Kia Sonet is priced between ₹8 lakh and ₹16 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the exact price of the new Kia Syros has not yet been revealed. Reports suggest that its starting price will be around ₹9 lakh (ex-showroom).
