Indian automotive company Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M Ltd.) recorded an 11% increase in total auto sales in June 2024, with a total of 69,397 vehicles sold, including exports. The company also saw a 23% increase in domestic utility vehicle (UV) sales, with 40,022 units sold. Including exports, Mahindra’s total UV sales reached 40,644 units.
In addition, the company’s domestic commercial vehicle sales were 20,594 units. Veejay Nakra, President of Mahindra & Mahindra’s Automotive Division, stated that the company sold 40,022 SUVs in June, reflecting a 23% increase, and overall sold 69,397 vehicles, marking an 11% increase compared to the previous year.
Veejay Nakra also spoke about other significant achievements made in June 2024. He mentioned that June was a noteworthy month as we launched the 200,000th XUV700 from our factory. Additionally, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Bolero Pick-Ups in June 2024.
Domestic Passenger Vehicle Sales Performance
In June 2024, Mahindra’s domestic UV sales increased by 23% to reach 40,022 units. There was also a 24% increase in YTD (Year to Date) sales for this category. However, there was a decline in the sales of cars and vans.
Commercial Vehicles and Three-Wheelers Sales Performance
The domestic sales figures for June 2024 showed mixed results across various categories of commercial vehicles and three-wheelers.
There was a 5% increase in the sales of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) with a weight of less than 2 tons, while there was a 12% decline in LCVs with a weight between 2 and 3.5 tons.
On the other hand, there was an impressive 77% increase in the sales of LCVs with a weight of more than 3.5 tons and medium and heavy commercial vehicles (MHCVs). Conversely, there was a slight decline in the sales of three-wheelers (including electric models).
June Export Data
In June 2024, Mahindra recorded a 4% increase in exports, with a total of 2,597 units exported. Year-to-Date (YTD) export figures also showed a 3% increase.
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited recorded a notable increase in overall auto sales for June 2024. The company achieved significant milestones such as maintaining its market leadership position in the LCV segment, launching the milestone XUV700 unit, and celebrating the anniversary of the Bolero Pick-Ups.
