Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Sales Decline Sharply
Maruti Suzuki’s entry-level hatchback, the Alto K10, has witnessed a
significant drop in sales. In May 2024, the model sold 7,675 units, but this number decreased to 4,970 units in May 2025. This represents a year-on-year decline of 35%. In
the domestic market, it competes with cars like the Renault Kwid and Tata

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Price
The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is priced starting at ₹4.23 lakh, going up to ₹6.21
lakh (ex-showroom) for the top model. In March 2025, the company made 6 airbags
a standard feature across all variants. To boost its sales, Maruti is also
offering bumper discounts on the Alto K10.
Variants and Options
Maruti offers the
Alto K10 in multiple variants – STD, LXI, VXI, VXI Plus, VXI
AMT, and VXI Plus AMT – along with six color options. It is available with both
petrol and CNG powertrains, delivering excellent mileage.
2025 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Features
This compact hatchback comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment
system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a multi-function steering
wheel, power windows, and keyless entry, among other features.
Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Safety
Maruti Suzuki has upgraded the safety features of the Alto K10. Now, all
variants come equipped with 6 airbags as standard. In addition, the car offers
features such as three-point seatbelts, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD
(Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), rear parking sensors, and speed-sensing
door locks.
Engine and Performance
The Alto K10 is powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that
generates 65.71 bhp of power and 89 Nm of torque. This engine is available with
either a 5-speed manual or an automatic transmission option. Its CNG variant
also uses the same engine but comes only with a manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Mileage
Mileage is one of the major highlights of the Alto K10. The petrol manual
variant offers a fuel efficiency of 24.39 km/l, the petrol AMT delivers 24.90
km/l, and the CNG model provides an impressive 33.4 km/kg.
One of the primary reasons behind the declining sales of the Maruti SuzukiAlto K10 could be the rising competition in the market. Moreover, its safety
