Leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has made significant updates to enhance passenger safety in its vehicles. Maruti has now equipped its entire portfolio with Electronic Stability Program Plus (ESP) as a standard feature. This has made Maruti's cars safer than before.
Along with this, the company has also added the Electronic Stability Program Plus (ESP) feature to its two entry-level models, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and the Maruti S-Presso. Let's learn more about them in detail.
Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
This is a modern feature that has become quite popular in cars these days. Maruti has also implemented this program to enhance the safety of its vehicles. This feature helps keep the car stable.
How ESP Works
The Electronic Stability Program is an advanced feature that helps control and stabilize the car during high speeds and emergency braking. Additionally, the Electronic Stability Program+ feature prevents the vehicle from skidding.
The ESP system is a combination of features such as an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), and Stability Control (SC). This system is used as a sensor device to monitor and maintain the vehicle's speed and stability. With this feature, the car automatically controls itself even at higher speeds. The Electronic Stability Program+ feature makes it much easier for drivers to operate the car. Interestingly, Maruti has not increased the prices of the cars despite adding this feature.
Safety Features in Maruti Cars
Along with ESP, the Maruti Suzuki portfolio includes standard safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, engine immobilizer, Heartect platform, and collapsible steering column.
