MINI India has launched the new MINI Cooper S and all-electric MINI Countryman in India. These models will be available as completely built units (CBU) and can be booked through authorized MINI dealers across the country or online at shop.mini.in. Deliveries will start in September 2024. The fifth-generation new MINI Cooper S and the third-generation electric MINI Cooper Countryman both combine classic MINI design with modern technology. These cars not only offer a new look but also maintain MINI's renowned excellent driving performance.
New MINI Cooper S Price and Colors
The new MINI Cooper S has been launched at a price of ₹44.9 lakh. It is available in ten vibrant colors.
These color options include Melting Silver, Midnight Black, Nanuk White, British Racing Green, Chili Red II, Indigo Sunset Blue, Blazing Blue, Icy Sunshine Blue, Ocean Wave Green, and Sunny Side Yellow. Roof options include body color, Glazed White or Jet Black for the 'Classic' pack.
MINI Countryman EV Price and Colors
The all-electric MINI Countryman has been launched at a price of ₹54.9 lakh. It is available in nine attractive colors.
These color options include Melting Silver, Midnight Black, Nanuk White, British Racing Green, Chili Red II, Indigo Sunset Blue, Blazing Blue, Smoky Green, and Slate Blue. Roof options include body color or Glazed White/Jet Black for the 'Classic' pack and Vibrant Silver for the 'Favored' pack.
Design and Features
The new MINI models feature short overhangs, a short bonnet, a long wheelbase, and large wheels, which are all part of MINI's design identity.
The car is divided into three sections for easy recognition: the body, the window area, and the contrasting colored roof. The MINI Countryman lacks side scuttles and has flush door handles, giving it a more modern look.
Inside, the MINI car design is very simple yet modern, featuring several new technologies. This includes a 240 mm circular high-resolution OLED touchscreen display.
The new MINI Operating System 9 supports touchscreen and voice control for better connectivity. Additionally, the innovative MINI Digital Key Plus feature allows your smartphone to function as the car key via the MINI app.
New MINI Cooper S Engine
It is powered by the latest MINI TwinPower Turbo technology petrol engine. It delivers 150 kW/204 hp at 5,000 - 6,500 rpm and 300 Nm of maximum torque at 1,450 - 4,500 rpm. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of 242 km/h.
MINI Countryman EV Battery
It offers a powerful electric drive with 150 kW/204 hp and 250 Nm of maximum torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. It has a lithium-ion battery with a gross capacity of 66.45 kWh. It provides a WLTP combined driving range of up to 462 km.
Comfort and Safety
Advanced assistance systems such as cruise control and parking assistant enhance comfort and safety in the new MINI family. Comfort Access allows automatic locking/unlocking when the key is within 1.5 meters of the car.
Standard minimalism technology includes an auto start/stop function, brake energy recuperation, and electromechanical power steering. Safety features include front passenger airbags, side curtain airbags, brake assist, and dynamic stability control, among others.
Notably, the new all-electric MINI Countryman comes with a complimentary smart wallbox charger with free installation once. Both models come with a two-year warranty, regardless of mileage. Additionally, you can opt for a separate roadside assistance plan.
