Mahindra is soon set to launch an affordable MX automatic variant of its popular XUV700 SUV. This new variant will come exclusively with a petrol engine, expanding the company's range of vehicles to meet the needs of different customers.
It is worth mentioning that the earlier Mahindra XUV700 MX could only seat 5 people and came with a 6-speed manual transmission, available with either a petrol or diesel engine. Recently, Mahindra has introduced a new model of the MX variant that can seat 7 people.
The new XUV700 MX MT comes with both petrol and diesel engines. Meanwhile, Mahindra is now preparing to launch the automatic (AT) variant of the XUV700 MX, which will be available only as a five-seater option with a petrol powertrain.
Price
Currently, the petrol MT (manual) variant of the Mahindra XUV700 MX (5-seater) starts at ₹14 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming new MX petrol AT (5-seater) is expected to be priced approximately ₹1.80 lakh more than the manual variant.
Engine
Talking about the engine, the XUV700 MX MT variant comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces 195 bhp of power and 380 Nm of torque. The features of the XUV700 MX petrol automatic should be similar to those of the recently released petrol manual variant.
Features
Inside the SUV, there will be an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system for entertainment. Additionally, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster will be provided to display vehicle information.
Along with Android Auto, the car will feature a USB port, a 4-speaker sound system, an adjustable steering wheel (up and down), rear AC vents, and electrically adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors).
Talking about the exterior, the headlights will have a follow-me-home feature, meaning they will stay on for a while after the car is turned off. Additionally, the car will feature arrow-shaped LED tail lamps, full-size wheel covers, and smart door handles.
Safety Features
In terms of safety, the XUV700 MX AT is expected to have features similar to the MX manual trim. These may include dual airbags, speed-sensitive door locks, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX.
In the Global NCAP crash test, the XUV700 received a five-star rating for adult occupant protection and a four-star rating for child occupant protection. In this regard, it is also an excellent car in terms of safety.
