Porsche's Macan EV becomes even more powerful

Porsche has launched two new variants of the Macan EV in India. One of these new variants is an entry-level model with an RWD layout. As a result, the prices for the Porsche Macan EV now start at ₹1.23 crore (ex-showroom). Let's go through the complete details.

Apart from the entry variant, Porsche has also launched the Macan 4S EV, priced at ₹1.39 crore (ex-showroom). Additionally, the price of the Macan EV Turbo has been increased from ₹1.65 crore to ₹1.69 crore (ex-showroom).

The newly launched base model of the Porsche Macan features a single electric motor that powers the rear and generates 360hp and 563Nm of peak torque. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h.

In comparison, the newly launched Porsche Macan 4S EV has two electric motors on both the front and rear wheels. Together, these motors generate a total of 516hp and 820Nm of peak torque

Due to the more powerful drivetrain and all-wheel-drive system, the Macan 4S EV can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. Its top speed is 240 km/h.

In terms of charging, all three variants of the Porsche Macan EV are equipped with a 100kWh battery pack. The base variant, with its efficient single-motor setup, offers a maximum range of up to 641 km on a full charge.

In comparison, the top-spec Macan Turbo EV offers a range of up to 591 km on a single charge, while the mid-spec Macan 4S EV provides a range of up to 606 km on a single charge.

Porsche has also added new colors and features to all variants of the Macan EV SUV. These include a new Slate Grey Neo color option and 20-inch wheels. An off-road design package is now available for all variants, which increases ground clearance by 10mm.

Porsche uses an 800V architecture across its entire Macan EV range, which supports powerful chargers up to 270KW DC. This allows the vehicle to charge from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes.

Bookings for these new variants have already started. The Porsche Macan EV faces tough competition from other luxury electric SUVs like the Audi Q8 e-Tron, Mercedes-Benz EQE, and BMW iX.
