In the Indian car market,
SUVs continue to dominate, and last month was no exception. Hyundai Creta
emerged as the top-selling SUV in July 2025, while models like the Mahindra
Thar and Maruti Suzuki Fronx also recorded strong sales. Let’s take a look at the
top 10 best-selling SUVs from last month.
Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta secured the first position in terms of sales. In July 2025, this
popular SUV attracted a total of 16,898 new buyers. Compared to the 17,350
units sold in July 2024, this reflects a marginal year-on-year decline of 3%.
The Hyundai Creta is
available at a starting ex-showroom price of just ₹11.11 lakh. The company
offers it with several premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch
digital driver display, climate control panel, wireless phone charger, ventilated
front seats, 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree
camera, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Its maximum claimed
mileage is 21.8 kmpl.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Taking the second spot on the list is the
Maruti Brezza. This popular SUV was
purchased by 14,065 buyers last month. Compared to the 14,676 units sold in
July 2024, this shows a 4% year-on-year decline.
Mahindra Scorpio
Demand for the Mahindra Scorpio has increased significantly. Last month, a
total of 13,747 units of this popular SUV were sold. Compared to the 12,237
units sold in July 2024, this represents an impressive 12% year-on-year growth.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
Sales of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx also saw a notable rise. Last month, 12,872
units of this SUV were sold. In comparison to the 10,925 units sold in July
2024, this marks a remarkable 18% increase year-on-year.
Tata Nexon
The
Tata Nexon ranked fifth in terms of sales. Last month, it recorded sales of
12,825 units. This reflects an 8% year-on-year decline compared to the 13,902
units sold in July 2024.

Apart from the top five SUVs mentioned above, the following models also
performed well last month:
- Tata Punch – 10,785 units sold
- Mahindra Thar – 9,845 units sold
- Toyota Hyryder – 8,814 units sold
- Hyundai Venue – 8,054 units sold
- Kia Sonet – 7,627 units sold
