In today's time, the demand for cars with safety-packed features has increased, as everyone now prioritizes their safety first. As a result, everyone is looking for a safe car, and Volvo is known for selling the safest cars. Recently, Volvo has introduced the updated version of its XC90 SUV in the global market.
The facelifted XC90 SUV introduced in the global market features significant design, numerous new features, and technical improvements. New Volvo XC90 Design
The exterior of the facelifted XC90 has undergone a complete transformation and now closely resembles the EX90 and other recently launched Volvo models. Additionally, the update includes a newly designed engine grille, 'Thor's Hammer' headlights, new 20 to 22-inch wheels, and updated rear lights. Inside, the cabin features a new horizontal design with textures like Nordico and Herringbone Weave upholstery.
One of the key interior updates is a new 11.2-inch touchscreen with high resolution and Google-based software, similar to the EX90. The center console has also been redesigned to include a '2+1' cup holder and a wireless smartphone charger.

The powertrain options remain the same as before, including the B5 and B6. It features a 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid technology. Additionally, this SUV can also be purchased with a plug-in hybrid lineup. This combines a 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, an 18.8 kWh battery pack, and an electric motor. It claims a combined range of around 800 km, with an EV-only range of 70 km.

To make it even more comfortable, high-quality materials have been used. For its luxury features, it includes a panoramic sunroof, a premium sound system, and automatic climate control.

The facelifted XC90 will be available in five--, six--, or seven-seat configurations. The mild-hybrid version offers 680 liters of space behind the second row, while the PHEV version provides 640 liters. Even with all seats in place, there is ample storage space, with 302 liters for the mild-hybrid and 262 liters for the PHEV version.
New Volvo XC90 Booking Details
Production of the updated XC90 will begin globally by the end of this year, with initial deliveries expected in select markets before the end of the year.
New Volvo XC90 India Launch
Although the India launch has not been confirmed yet, it is expected that the company might bring it to India by 2025.

Volvo currently sells the pre-facelift XC90 in India for ₹1.01 crore (ex-showroom). The updated XC90 SUV will compete with the BMW X5, Mercedes GLE, and Audi Q7 in India.
