Before its launch, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire has received its crash test results from NCAP. The new Dzire, packed with advanced safety features, achieved a 5-star safety rating in the crash test for adult safety, and a 4-star rating for child safety. With this achievement, the Dzire has become Maruti Suzuki's only model with a 5-star safety rating.
Dzire’s Trial by Fire
According to the GNCAP report, the driver's dummy received only minor protection in the chest test. In the pole test, the driver’s head was found to be fully safe, and in the side impact test, adults were also considered safe. It’s worth noting that three-point seat belts and i-Size anchors are standard in the model.
For child safety, dummies representing an 18-month-old and a 3-year-old were used in the test. The 18-month-old dummy was found to be fully safe during testing, while the 3-year-old dummy's head and chest were protected. However, it was noted that there is room for improvement in neck safety, which is why it received a 4-star rating in child safety.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Safety Features
The new Dzire comes standard with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and pedestrian protection features. It also has a new engine, which is more fuel-efficient than before. Notably, this powertrain has already been offered in the new Swift.
