Kia India will soon launch its first mass-market electric car, the Kia Carens Clavis EV, in the Indian market. The company has decided to launch it on 15th July 2025. If you're looking for a premium electric 7-seater for your family soon, the Clavis EV could be a better option. Let’s take a look at its expected price and launch details.

Expected Price and Launch Details

The official unveiling of the Kia Carens Clavis EV is scheduled for 15th July 2025, and the price announcement will be made on the same day. Its estimated price is expected to be between ₹16 lakh and ₹26 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, this MPV will compete with models like Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV.

Design and Features

The design of the Carens Clavis EV is largely similar to its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) version. It includes EV-specific changes like a closed-off grille, front charging port, aero-optimized dual-tone alloy wheels, and star-map LED DRLs with triple-pod LED headlamps. The interior boasts premium features such as a 26.62-inch dual-screen display (for infotainment and digital driver display), ventilated front seats, a 4-way power-adjustable driver seat, and a Bose 8-speaker sound system.

Powertrain and Range Details

This MPV may use a powertrain similar to the Hyundai Creta EV, offering two battery options — 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The 51.4 kWh battery will provide an MIDC-certified range of 490 km, while the 42 kWh battery will deliver a range of 390 km.

With 50 kW DC fast charging, its battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 58 minutes. It will also feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities.

Safety Features

The Carens Clavis EV will include safety features such as 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and Level 2 ADAS (including Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist). It is likely to be available in both 7-seater and 6-seater configurations, with the option of captain seats in the second row.

The Kia Carens Clavis EV could set a new benchmark in India’s electric vehicle market. It offers an excellent blend of premium features and eco-friendly performance, making it a great choice for large families.
