BYD eMax 7 vs Maruti Suzuki Invicto
Chinese automaker BYD has launched its fourth product in the Indian market, the eMax 7. This is the successor to the already existing BYD E6 and now comes in a 7-seater version.
In the Indian market, this electric MPV will compete in its segment with the Maruti Suzuki Invicto. However, the Invicto is an IC-engine powered car. Let’s compare the price, features, and specifications of both MPVs to find out which one is better.
Price
The BYD eMax 7 can be purchased in the Indian market at a starting price of ₹26.90 lakh. Its top-spec variant is available at an ex-showroom price of ₹29.90 lakh. On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto is priced starting at ₹25.21 lakh, with the top-spec variant going up to ₹28.92 lakh. There is a significant difference between the powertrains of the Invicto and the eMax.
Features
The BYD eMax 7 electric MPV can seat a total of 7 passengers, while the Invicto is an 8-seater MPV. In terms of features, the BYD eMax 7 comes equipped with a 12.8-inch digital infotainment display, vehicle-to-load technology, ventilated seats, and an ADAS suite.
On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto offers a smaller 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, and safety features such as ABS, ESP, and airbags. When it comes to technology, the eMax 7 is quite advanced.
Powertrain
The BYD eMax 7 is available with two battery options – 55.4 kWh and 71.8 kWh. These offer a claimed range of 420 km and 530 km on a single charge, respectively. With a fast charger, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 37 minutes.
The Maruti Invicto is available in the Indian market with a hybrid powertrain. Its 2.0-liter hybrid petrol engine produces 183 BHP of power and 206 Nm of torque with the help of an electric motor. The hybrid system in the Invicto delivers a claimed mileage of 23.4 km/l.
