In the coming months, many cars are set to be launched in India. Among them, the French company Citroen's Basalt (Citroen Basalt) will officially be unveiled on August 2. It is a Coupe SUV based on the C3 Aircross. It has been spotted several times during testing in India. However, recently, its official teaser has been shown.
The company recently released a teaser video showcasing a glimpse of the car's interior. This teaser video reveals that significant changes have been made to the interior of the Basalt compared to the C3 Aircross. Additionally, for the first time, the video also shows the car's shape.
The teaser shows three main interior improvements. There are armrests for both front and rear passengers, and better side support for the headrests. Additionally, the rear armrest includes a slot for holding a phone.
Citroen Basalt Design
The design of the Basalt, as shown in the teaser images, includes LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and LED projector headlights. These features are expected to be introduced in the upcoming updates for the C3 Aircross.
Citroen Basalt Engine
This model is the fourth locally manufactured vehicle from Citroen under the C-Cube program in India. It will be equipped with a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine that delivers 115 bhp and 215 Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Citroen Basalt Competition
The Basalt will compete with models like the ICE Tata Curve, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder. All these vehicles offer similar features and performance within the same segment in India.
