Citroen Basalt
To strengthen its foothold in the Indian market, Citroen is set to launch its coupe-style SUV, Basalt, today. This car will directly compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv SUV. Citroen already sells cars like the C3, EC3, and C3 Aircross in the domestic market in India.
In this context, the company is set to expand its lineup by launching the new Citroen Basalt. The company is marketing this car as a premium vehicle. You will find many latest features in it.
In the Indian market, this will be Citroen's fifth car in their lineup. It will also be the country's first coupe-style SUV. However, the Tata Curvv is also expected to launch this month. Customers are eagerly awaiting both of these cars.
Latest Features
Citroen has released several pictures related to the car. From these pictures, it is clear that Citroen has included more features in this car than in their C3 compact hatchback and C3 Aircross.
The design of the Citroen Basalt is also quite beautiful. It features rear AC vents located near the floor. Additionally, the car comes with special features such as a shark fin antenna, electric ORVMs, and power window buttons on the rear doors.
However, the car does not include modern features like a sunroof and keyless ignition. It may include a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, automatic climate control, and wireless charging.
For safety, the new Citroen Basalt coupe SUV will feature advanced elements such as 6 airbags, TPMS, ABS, front-rear cameras, and ESC. Like the C3 and C3 Aircross, the Citroen Basalt is built on the latest CMP platform.
Powertrain
The Citroen Basalt coupe SUV will come with a 1.2-turbo petrol engine. This engine is capable of generating a maximum power of 110 PS and a peak torque of 205 Nm. It may offer the option of a 6-speed manual/automatic gearbox.
Price
According to reports, the Citroen Basalt may be launched at a price of ₹13 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, this car will be launched in India only in the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) version.
