The 2025 Auto Expo will kick off in the early days of next year, and as always, many new products will be unveiled. India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, is set to launch its first electric car.
Meanwhile, Hyundai is expected to introduce the Creta EV, its first Made-in-India electric car. Additionally, Mahindra is likely to showcase the BE.05. Let’s take a look at these three electric cars.
Maruti Suzuki eVX
Maruti Suzuki gave a glimpse of this electric car at the 2023 Auto Expo. The eVX is expected to be launched in early 2025, followed by a Toyota derivative. The Electric SUV is anticipated to feature a 60 kWh battery pack, offering a driving range of around 550 km.
Hyundai Creta EV
The electric version of the Hyundai Creta could launch anytime next year. The company is currently testing it on Indian roads. It is expected to share its platform with the ICE-powered Creta but will come with a futuristic design and electric vehicle-specific touches.
It is expected that the Hyundai Creta EV will be priced under ₹20 lakh, with its powertrain likely sourced from the Kona EV. This electric SUV is anticipated to come with advanced features and top-notch safety, featuring a front-wheel-drive electric motor. Its estimated driving range is between 450-500 km.
Mahindra BE.05
Currently, Mahindra has only one electric car in the market – the Mahindra XUV400. Expanding its EV lineup, Mahindra is set to introduce the BE.05, which might be showcased at the upcoming 2025 Auto Expo. Based on a dedicated EV platform, this electric vehicle is expected to offer a range of over 500 km. It will feature an electric motor sourced from Valeo, likely sending power to the rear wheels.
