Hyundai has launched an affordable CNG car with a dual-cylinder setup.

Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo

South Korean company Hyundai's cars have tremendous demand in the Indian market. The company's cars are giving tough competition to domestic brands like Tata and Mahindra. Considering the growing demand for CNG cars in India, Hyundai Motor India has expanded its CNG lineup. The company has launched a new dual-cylinder CNG variant of its popular micro SUV, Exter.

The company has named it the Hy-CNG Duo. The Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo is the company's first car to come with a twin-cylinder kit. Until now, only Tata Motors has been offering dual CNG cars in the country.

Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo Price and Variants

The Exter with dual-cylinder technology can be purchased for between ₹8.50 lakh and ₹9.38 lakh (ex-showroom prices). The company has introduced it in three variants: S, SX, and Night Edition.

Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo Powertrain and Mileage

The new Exter with dual-cylinder technology features two CNG tanks with a capacity of 30 liters each, significantly increasing the car's boot space. According to Hyundai, the Hy-CNG Duo will offer a mileage of 27.1 kilometers per kilogram of CNG.

As for the engine, the Exter CNG comes with a 1.2-liter petrol engine. This engine produces 68 BHP of power and 95.2 Nm of torque with the CNG option.

When running on petrol fuel, the power increases to 82 BHP and the torque increases to 114 Nm. The CNG variant is available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The new Hy-CNG technology provides the option to switch between CNG and petrol fuel through an integrated electronic control unit (ECU), allowing you to switch from petrol to CNG easily while driving.

Features

In terms of features, the Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo comes with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a sunroof, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

Additionally, the car includes LED headlamps and tail lamps and 15-inch alloy wheels. For passenger convenience, it offers advanced features such as six airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, ESC, and hill-start assist.

As for the prices of the Exter Hy-CNG Duo, the S variant is priced at ₹8.50 lakh, the SX variant at ₹9.23 lakh, and the SX Night variant at ₹9.38 lakh (ex-showroom prices).
