Kia's Bold Move: Seltos and Sonet New Variants Shake the Market

One of the fastest-growing premium car manufacturers in the country, Kia India, has introduced new variants for its popular models, the Seltos and the Sonet. The company has launched a total of 5 new variants and an X-Line version for these cars. The Seltos is now available in 21 variants, and the Sonet in 22 variants.

Four new GTX variants have been introduced for these cars, available with both petrol DCT and diesel AT engine and transmission options. Additionally, a Smartstream G1.0 HTK iMT variant has been introduced for the Sonet, allowing customers to buy a turbo petrol engine Sonet for under 10 lakh rupees.

Seltos New Features

The GTX trim edition of the Seltos includes advanced features such as solar glass, white calipers on both ends, ventilated seats, ADAS (front camera and front radar), a 360-degree camera, and a sliding center armrest, which enhance the vehicle's appeal compared to the HTX variant.

It is available with a Smartstream G1.5 TGDi (turbo petrol) engine paired with a 7DCT or a 1.5L CRDi VGT diesel engine paired with a 6AT. The X-Line has been upgraded with an Aurora Black Pearl color option, providing an all-black glossy look in addition to the existing matte graphite option.

Sonet New Features

The updates for the Sonet aim to introduce popular features such as ISOFIX, a wireless phone charger, a rear wiper and washer, and diamond-cut alloy wheels in the lower trims. The introduction of the GTX variant further enhances the value proposition of the GT Line trims in the Sonet.

The GTX trim edition includes drive and traction control modes, leatherette seats, ventilated seats, paddle shifters, a 360-degree camera with SVM, and auto up/down safety windows. Engine options include the Smartstream G1.5 TGDi (turbo petrol) with 7DCT or the 1.5L CRDi VGT diesel with 6AT.

DriveSpark's Opinion
