In light of this, Kia Motors is also preparing to enter this segment. Yes, Kia is set to launch the new Clavis SUV in the coming days.
Recently, the Kia Clavis was spotted during testing on the Yamuna Expressway. The new sub-4-meter compact SUV is expected to be launched by the end of this year. It's worth noting that Kia has already trademarked the name Clavis in India.
Kia has assigned the codename AY to the Clavis model. The Kia Clavis will come with a striking look featuring a long and boxy profile. Overall, this SUV will be launched with a completely new design and the latest features.
Features of the Kia Clavis
The design of this SUV is reminiscent of the Skoda Yeti, particularly its pillar design, which is quite similar to that of the Yeti. It may feature silver roof rails and diamond-cut alloy wheels. Additionally, the Clavis is expected to come with a bold clamshell bonnet along with headlamps and DRLs.
Sporty 17-inch alloy wheels, flush-type door handles, and functional roof rails make this SUV quite special. The rear side features a full-width LED light bar.
Kia Clavis Features
The Kia Clavis will come with several premium features. It will include a dual 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and instrument display, a panoramic sunroof, front and rear ventilated seats, a 360-degree surround view camera, 12 parking sensors, USB charging ports, and rear AC vents.
In addition, the Clavis SUV will feature wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, and a foldable central armrest. According to reports, the Kia Clavis will be launched in both electric and ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) variants.
Powertrain
The ICE variant of the Kia Clavis may come with a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 120 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque. It will be paired with a 6-speed iMT (intelligent Manual Transmission) and a 7-speed DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) gearbox.
As for the Clavis EV, its range is expected to be approximately 350 to 400 kilometers. However, detailed information about the electric variant is currently limited. For safety, the top-spec variant is anticipated to feature 6 airbags, all-4-disk brakes, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
