Lectrix EV is one of the leading electric two-wheeler manufacturers in the Indian market. The company has launched a new electric scooter at an affordable price to challenge petrol scooters.
Lectrix EV has introduced a new electric scooter under the name LXS 2.0. The price of this new electric two-wheeler is only 49,999 rupees. It is worth mentioning that the Lectrix EV brand falls under the renowned SAR Group in the electric mobility segment.
According to the company, this electric scooter provides a range of 100 kilometers on a single charge. Its top speed is 50 kilometers per hour. Additionally, the company is also providing a lifetime battery warranty with it.
Monthly Subscription Battery Option:
Interestingly, the new electric scooter from Lectrix EV offers the option of a monthly subscription for the battery. Lectrix EV is the first OEM in India to offer service on a monthly subscription basis along with a removable battery.
This means that consumers will be offered a membership for battery servicing, and payment will be required based on that. The brand claims that due to the battery service program, Lectrix EV customers will pay up to 40 percent less compared to other electric scooter users.
Before this, in February 2024, the company launched a version of the LXS 2.0 electric scooter with a shorter range, providing a range of 98 kilometers on a single charge. Priced at 79,999 rupees (ex-showroom), this scooter comes with a 2.3 kW battery pack. Lectrix believes that the new LXS 2.0 fulfills three important needs of the customer - range, quality, and price. Lectrix provides a warranty of 3 years or 30,000 kilometers with the new LXS 2.0 electric scooter. Additionally, this model comes with several advanced features including an anti-theft system and emergency SOS. The company stated that more than 10,000 Lectrix electric vehicles are already being used by customers across the country.
Pritesh Talwar, the EV Head of Lectrix EV, stated, "Using the battery separately from the vehicle and utilizing it as a separate service provides customers with a unique experience." He mentioned that the primary challenges in adopting EVs have been the higher initial cost and uncertainty surrounding the battery, both of which have been addressed with the launch of this new scooter. "The average cost of purchasing a fuel-powered vehicle is 1 lakh rupees, which is double our offering cost. Additionally, monthly investment in petrol is increasing, adding extra burden on users.
