Mahindra has
released a new teaser of its upcoming Vision SXT concept SUV, which is set to
be unveiled at the Freedom_NU event in Mumbai on August 15, 2025.
This concept is believed to be an advanced version of the pickup truck based on
the Scorpio-N platform.
The vehicle was
first showcased in 2023 in South Africa as a global pickup concept. It
is expected to draw attention with its off-road capabilities and rugged
design. Let’s take a closer look at the details of the Vision SXT Concept.
Expected Launch Details
The Vision
SXT Concept will be unveiled as a concept model on August 15, 2025,
at the Freedom_NU event. However, its production version is
likely to launch in 2026. It is expected to see strong demand in international
markets such as Australia and South Africa. The timeline for
the Indian launch is still unclear, but the pickup truck could cater to the growing
demand for lifestyle vehicles in India.
Design Highlights
The design of
the Vision SXT is bold and focused on off-roading. The teaser reveals
its boxy silhouette, clamshell bonnet, flared wheel arches,
and a muscular front end. The front profile appears high and imposing,
possibly featuring a winch and tow hooks on the bumper. Bonnet
latches and exterior hinges add to its functional appeal. Off-road
tires and skid plates further emphasize its durability and
ruggedness.
This concept
marks Mahindra’s bold step toward expanding its presence in the global
lifestyle and adventure vehicle segment.
Interior
Details about the interior of the Vision SXT are currently limited.
However, since it is based on the
Scorpio-N platform, it is expected to feature
a premium and modern cabin. Key features likely include a large touchscreen infotainment system, Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof,
and connected car technologies. The cabin is expected to be both functional
and comfortable.
Features
The Vision SXT is likely to be loaded with modern features. It may
include a multi-functional steering wheel, a digital instrument
cluster, and premium upholstery. To enhance its off-road
capabilities, features such as a 4x4 system, hill descent control,
and differential lock could be offered. In terms of safety, the
SUV is expected to include multiple airbags, ABS, and other
advanced safety systems.
Engine and
Powertrain
The Vision SXT will be built on
Mahindra’s new Freedom_NU platform,
which supports petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains.
It is expected to be available in an electric version, making it
distinct from the diesel-based Scorpio-N pickup concept. The electric
variant may feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. However,
the complete technical specifications are yet to be revealed.
