Tata Motors Tops EV Sales Charts Again

The demand for electric cars has steadily increased over time. This trend is also evident in last month's sales report. As usual, in March 2025, Tata Motors remained the country's number one electric car-selling company. Meanwhile, MG Motor and Mahindra also attracted a good number of customers. Let's take a look at the company-wise sales report.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors is at the top of the list. Backed by excellent electric cars like the Punch EV and Nexon EV, the company sold a total of 4,710 units last month. This marks an 18% month-on-month growth compared to the 3,980 units sold in February 2025.

MG Motor India

In terms of sales, MG Motor India holds the second position. Thanks to electric cars like the Comet EV and Windsor EV, the company recorded total sales of 3,889 units last month. This reflects a 13% increase compared to the 3,440 units sold in February 2025.

Mahindra

Mahindra takes the third spot. Boosted by newly launched electric models like the Mahindra BE 6 and XUV 9e, the company attracted 1,944 new customers last month. This figure represents a massive 290% growth compared to the 498 units sold in February 2025.

Hyundai Motor India

Thanks to the recently launched Creta Electric, Hyundai secured the fourth position last month. In March 2025, the company sold a total of 849 EV units. This figure represents an 11% increase compared to the 766 units sold in February 2025.

BYD India

Despite having a limited lineup like the XC40 Recharge in the Indian market, BYD has managed to secure a spot among the top 5 EV-selling companies. Last month, the company gained a total of 396 new customers. This marks a 48% increase compared to the 267 units sold in February 2025.

Apart from the top 5 companies mentioned above that sold the most electric cars in March 2025, BMW India sold 250 units, Mercedes-Benz sold 170 units, Citroen and Volvo Auto India each sold 46 units, and Kia India sold 24 units.
