Maruti Suzuki's Strong Start to 2025

The country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, has made an excellent start to 2025. The company recorded strong sales in January 2025. Maruti Suzuki offers a wide range of cars, from the affordable Alto K10 to the premium Grand Vitara. Let’s take a look at the vehicles sold by Maruti last month.

Maruti Suzuki January 2025 Sales Report

Maruti Suzuki registered its highest-ever monthly sales in January 2025, selling 2,12,251 units. This marks a significant increase compared to 1,99,364 units sold in January 2024. The company saw a rise in sales of utility vehicles and compact cars, while sales in the mini-segment declined.

Decline in Small Car Sales

Maruti Suzuki witnessed a decline of 14,247 units in the sales of its mini-segment cars on a year-on-year basis. Sales of small cars like Alto and S-Presso were slightly lower compared to 15,849 units sold in January 2024. On an annual basis, sales dropped from 1,15,483 units last year to 1,03,889 units this year.

Boost for Compact Car Segment

Compact cars like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, and others recorded impressive sales. Sales increased from 76,533 units in January 2024 to 82,241 units last month. However, annual sales declined from 6,86,544 units in FY 2023-24 to 6,30,889 units in the current fiscal year.

Surging Demand for Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

The demand for Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has increased significantly, with sales rising from 363 units in January 2024 to 768 units last month.

When considering both mini and compact segments, a decline in sales was observed. The combined sales of these two segments dropped from 96,488 units last year to 92,382 units this year. Additionally, annual sales declined to 7,34,778 units.
