Nissan Tekton Exterior Design Revealed: India-Made SUV to Rival Hyundai Creta
By CarVaidyaNissan has officially revealed the exterior design of its upcoming SUV, the Nissan Tekton, which is set to make a strong comeback for the brand in India’s compact SUV segment. The Tekton will be manufactured in India for both domestic and export markets, marking Nissan’s renewed focus on the Indian auto market. The SUV is expected to launch by the second quarter of 2026, with an estimated starting price of Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Nissan Tekton carries a bold and muscular design
inspired by the brand’s global flagship SUV, the Nissan Patrol. At the
front, it features a large signature grille, connected LED DRLs,
and C-shaped LED headlamps that give it a futuristic look. The bonnet
proudly displays ‘TEKTON’ badging, adding a premium touch to its overall
styling.
The SUV also gets sporty bumpers with a skid plate, roof rails, chunky wheel arches, and dual-tone alloy wheels, all of which enhance its SUV stance. The rear design follows the same C-shaped theme with connected LED tail lights, giving the Tekton a strong road presence. Nissan has also added a unique Himalayan-inspired trim on the front door and hidden rear door handles, contributing to a sleek, modern appearance.
While Nissan has only shared a glimpse of the interior,
the dashboard design looks premium with a multi-layered layout, gloss
black accents, and a copper finish running across its width.
The Nissan Tekton interior is expected to be loaded
with modern features such as:
In terms of safety features, the Tekton could include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and even Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) – a feature that is fast becoming standard in modern SUVs.
Nissan has not yet confirmed the engine and transmission options for the Tekton. However, it is expected to offer multiple engine choices, including a petrol and hybrid powertrain, along with manual and automatic transmission options. These will cater to both performance enthusiasts and fuel-efficiency-focused buyers.
The Nissan Tekton launch in India is expected around mid-2026, positioning it as a rival to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, and Maruti Grand Vitara. Prices are likely to start from around Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an attractive option in the C-segment SUV category.
With its eye-catching exterior, feature-rich interior, and advanced safety technology, the Nissan Tekton promises to be a strong contender in India’s highly competitive SUV market. Designed and manufactured in India, it also underlines Nissan’s commitment to expanding its presence in the country and abroad.
