Skoda and Volkswagen cars are known for their premium feel
and safety. Due to higher pricing, their vehicles are purchased by only a
limited set of customers. Talking about sales, Skoda increased its prices in
August 2025, while VW witnessed a drop in sales. Let’s take a look at their
model-wise sales report.
Skoda Kylaq
At the top of the list is the Skoda Kylaq.
Being the most affordable SUV in both companies’ lineups, it is attracting a
large number of buyers. Last month, a total of 3,099 customers purchased the
Kylaq. It’s worth noting that the SUV has not even completed a year in the
Indian market yet.
After the GST cut, the Skoda Kylaq can now be purchased at a
starting ex-showroom price of just ₹7,54,651. It comes equipped with features
like an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment
display, a sunroof, standard 6 airbags, TPMS, ABS with EBD, and a reverse
parking camera. With its turbo engine, it delivers a mileage of up to 18 kmpl.
VW Virtus
In the second spot on the list is Volkswagen’sVirtus. This hatchback gained 1,674 new customers last month. Compared to the
1,876 units sold in August 2024, this shows an 11 percent year-on-year decline.
Skoda Slavia
In terms of sales, the Slavia ranked third.
This popular sedan attracted 1,008 new customers last month. Compared to the
1,122 units sold in August 2024, this reflects a 10 percent year-on-year
decline.
VW Taigun
The fourth spot goes to the Taigun. This popular
SUV gained a total of 1,001 new customers in August 2025. Compared to the 1,628
units sold in August 2024, this represents a steep 39 percent year-on-year
decline.
Skoda Kushaq
In fifth place is the Skoda Kushaq, which was
purchased by 789 customers last month. Compared to the 1,502 units sold in
August 2024, this shows a sharp 47 percent year-on-year drop.
Apart from the top 5 cars of both companies mentioned above,
Skoda Kodiaq registered 75 units, VW Golf sold 36 units, and VW Tiguan managed
only 8 units. Meanwhile, in August 2025, Skoda Superb did not find any buyers
at all.
