Tata Motors’ 90s queen Sierra is all set to make a comeback as a modern SUV in 2025. According to reports, it may launch in the Indian market around November–December 2025. The new Sierra 2025 will be a perfect blend of classic looks and modern technology, offered with multiple powertrain options. Let’s take a look at its expected price and key highlights.
Retro-Modern Design
The
Tata Sierra’s design brings back nostalgic memories from the 90s while adding an advanced, futuristic touch. This boxy-shaped SUV features the signature floating roofline and rectangular headlamps. At the front, it gets LED DRLs, a bold grille, and turn indicators mounted on the ORVMs.
The side profile showcases new 18-inch alloy wheels and cladded wheel arches, giving it a strong off-roader appeal. At the rear, the Sierra flaunts its signature “Sierra” lettering and a squared-off tail design for a muscular finish.
Interior and Features
Spy shots reveal that the
Tata Sierra’s cabin will feature a triple-screen setup, including a driver’s instrument cluster, a main infotainment display, and a co-passenger screen.
Other expected features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, dual-zone climate control, ventilated and powered front seats, a premium JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, ambient lighting, and OTA (over-the-air) updates support.
Safety
Tata is already well-known for its commitment to safety, and the Sierra 2025 will be no exception. It is expected to come equipped with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Hill Hold Assist as standard.
Additionally, the SUV will offer Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) for enhanced safety and driving comfort.
Engine and Performance
There’s no official confirmation yet about the powertrain options of the
Tata Sierra. However, reports suggest that the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) versions — petrol and diesel — will be launched first. The SUV is likely to come with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, paired with manual and automatic transmission options.
Expected Price
The Tata Sierra ICE version is expected to be priced between ₹11 lakh and ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom). The EV variant will likely be priced higher.
In terms of competition, the Sierra will rival popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
