Affordable Compact SUVs are in good demand
in the Indian market. You can get an idea of this by looking at the car sales
figures for April 2025. Last month, Hyundai Creta became the best-selling car
in the country. Apart from this, Maruti
Brezza, Fronx, Scorpio, and Tata Nexon are also included in the top 10.

Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta is the best-selling car in the
Indian market. In April 2025, 17,016 new customers bought it. The starting
ex-showroom price of this sub-compact SUV in the domestic market is ₹11.11
lakh. The interior of the Hyundai Creta is quite attractive and feature-loaded.
It offers features like a panoramic sunroof, dual 10.25-inch displays, an
8-speaker Bose sound system, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats,
and for safety, 6 airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, traction control,
a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS. It is available in both diesel and
petrol options and gives a maximum mileage of up to 21.8 kmpl.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Maruti Brezza is in second place on
the list of best-selling SUVs last month. In April 2025, 16,971 units of this
SUV were sold. The Brezza is available in petrol and CNG options and its
starting ex-showroom price is ₹8.69 lakh.
Its interior features include a 9-inch touchscreen
infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electric
sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a heads-up display, wireless charging, and cruise
control. For safety, it gets 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX
child seat mounts, and rear parking sensors. It comes with a 1.5-liter K15C
petrol engine with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The Maruti Brezza is also available in
a CNG option with a 5-speed manual transmission. Its petrol variants have a
mileage of 17.38 to 19.89 km/liter, and the CNG variant has a mileage of 25.51
km/kg.
Mahindra Scorpio N
The Mahindra Scorpio is in third place on
this list. In April 2025, 15,534 new customers made this SUV their own. This
SUV is popular for its bold look, strong performance, and safety. Its starting
price in the domestic market is ₹14 lakh (ex-showroom). Its interior features
include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity, a
12-speaker Sony sound system, dual-zone climate control, an electric sunroof,
and ventilated front seats. For safety, it gets 6 airbags, electronic stability
control, hill hold assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system. It has
received a 5-star safety rating from GNCAP. The Mahindra Scorpio N is available
with two engine options, including a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and a 2.2-liter
diesel engine. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual or automatic
transmission. Its diesel variant gets the facility of a 4x4 drivetrain.
Tata Nexon
Tata Nexon has secured the fourth position on
this list. This SUV found 15,457 new customers in April 2025. The Nexon is quite popular among the
middle class due to its 5-star safety and diesel-petrol & CNG powertrain
options. Its starting ex-showroom price in the domestic market is just ₹8 lakh.
This affordable SUV features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a
10.25-inch digital driver display, wireless charging, automatic climate
control, cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, and a JBL sound system. For
safety, it gets 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS, EBD, electronic stability
control, hill hold control, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
Maruti Fronx stood at the 5th position
with sales of 14,345 units. This Compact SUV is popular for its design and
strong mileage. Its starting price in the domestic market is just ₹7.54 lakh.
It can also be bought in petrol and CNG options. It offers features like a
9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple
CarPlay, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, cruise control, and a wireless
charger. For safety, it includes 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Electronic Stability
Program (ESP), hill hold assist, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
Its mileage in CNG mode is 28 km/kg.
