Volkswagen Group's five companies sold approximately 1.46 lakh cars in India last year.

Among the companies of the Volkswagen Group are formidable car brands such as Volkswagen, along with Skoda, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini. In the past year, i.e., in 2023, these companies collectively sold around 1.46 lakh cars in the Indian market, marking an 8% annual increase.

The European automotive company Volkswagen Group has captivated the hearts of Indians. The Volkswagen Group comprises a total of 5 companies, including Skoda, along with luxury car manufacturers Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini, alongside Volkswagen. The sales of cars from these companies in India saw an annual increase of approximately 8% in the past year, i.e., in 2023, reaching a total of 145,713 units.

The Volkswagen Group has stated that 101,465 cars from its companies were sold in the domestic market, while 44,248 vehicles were exported. The company had sold 1,34,667 cars during the January-December period of 2022. Skoda Auto, under Volkswagen India, represents the luxury car brands Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini.

The company stated that Volkswagen Group maintained a steady sales momentum in 2023, consistently achieving sales of over one lakh units in the Indian market for the second consecutive year. A total of 44,248 cars were exported from India by these companies, marking a 32% annual increase.

Piyush Arora, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, mentioned that the company sustained continuous growth in the past year. He stated that in 2024, they plan to expand their reach to more customers in India and enhance their presence in the international market.

Let me tell you that Lamborghini sells supercars and hypercars in India. Meanwhile, Porsche offers cars in the SUV, sedan, coupe, and station wagon segments. Audi sells several popular cars in various segments, including sedans and SUVs, in the Indian market.
