If you fail to pay the fine for your vehicle or two-wheeler on time, after 90 days, which is three months from the date of penalty imposition, your vehicle will be categorized as 'Not to be Transacted' on the vehicle portal.

These things cannot be done

If the fine is not paid, all services related to the transport department on the vehicle portal will be blocked. These services include vehicle fitness check, pollution check, vehicle transfer, and change of address. To re-enable these services, the fine must be paid.

Trouble may escalate

Department officials have indicated that the number of pending fines has significantly increased, leading to a strict enforcement. It's worth mentioning that this rule existed previously. Initially, the process was manual and time-consuming. However, it will now be automated. This decision serves as a warning to vehicle operators to adhere to traffic rules and pay fines on time. Failure to do so may result in various complications for them.

Action on amounts exceeding 6,000

After this decision, more than 6,000 vehicles have been categorized as Not to be Transacted. Drivers of these vehicles will be allowed to resume these services only after paying the fines. Officials have mentioned that many of these vehicles had pending fines related to violations of last year's GRAP-related restrictions. Data related to unpaid fines is also being collected from the traffic police. The traffic police have numerous fines that have not been collected for an extended period.
