French car manufacturer Citroen is set to launch its most awaited SUV coupe, the Citroen Basalt, in the Indian market on August 9. It includes several premium features, such as a 7-inch full digital cluster and a 10.2-inch infotainment system, supporting all wireless car connectivity technologies including Android Auto, Apple CarPlay. It also comes with additional features like push-button start/stop and cruise control.

Safety has been prioritized in this SUV coupe. It includes six airbags, electronic stability control, a rear parking camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system, among other safety features.
Engine and Mileage of the Basalt SUV Coupe
It offers two engine options. The first is a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine that generates 82 bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and is claimed to deliver a mileage of 18 kilometers per liter.
The second engine is a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 110 bhp and 205 Nm of torque. It comes with options for a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is claimed to deliver a mileage ranging from 18.7 kilometers per liter to 19.5 kilometers per liter.
Notably, the Basalt SUV Coupe will be the fifth car launched by Citroen, following the C3, eC3, C3 Aircross, and C5 Aircross. It will face tough competition from the upcoming Tata Curvv. Additionally, it will also compete with models like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos.
