The Honda Amaze received a shock in the Global NCAP crash test.

The sub-compact sedan Amaze from the renowned Japanese car manufacturer Honda has achieved 2 stars for adult occupant safety and 0 stars for child safety in the Global NCAP crash test.

Currently, Honda cars such as the Honda City and Honda Amaze are available for sale in India. The facelifted version of the Honda Elevate is set to be launched soon. It should be noted that the Honda Amaze received only 2 stars in the Global NCAP crash test.

Global NCAP recently updated its crash test regulations. The Honda Amaze was tested under these new regulations. In this test, Global NCAP has given the Honda Amaze a rating of 2 stars out of 5 for adult occupant safety.

Received '0' rating in child safety: Obtained 0-star for child safety. However, in the Global NCAP crash test conducted in 2019, the Honda Amaze received a 4-star rating in the adult safety category and a 1-star rating in the child safety category.

The crash test report revealed that the dummy representing a child in the front-facing impact suffered serious injuries to its head. During the impact, there was excessive stress felt in the chest and neck area of a 3-year-old dummy.

The report stated that the dummy representing a 1.5-year-old child in the frontal impact was injured to such an extent that it was thrown out of the car. Due to the absence of a 3-point seat belt and an airbag disconnect switch, the child safety category received a '0' star rating.

However, due to the absence of ESC feature, lack of side head protection, and only driver seat belt reminder feature, the Amaze received a 2-star rating in adult safety.

Honda Cars India has responded to the Global NCAP rating. Honda claims that under the new regulations, the Amaze is a 5-star rated car and the marks for the car have decreased due to the absence of electronic stability control and side airbags.

Safety Features of Honda Amaze: Speaking of the safety features of the Honda Amaze, it comes with 2 airbags, seat belt reminder, ABS with EBD, rear-view camera, child lock, and anchor points for child seats. Additionally, it also features an anti-theft engine immobilizer.
