Creta EV vs Diesel-Petrol: Features & Differences

Hyundai is gearing up to launch the new Creta EV on the first day of the India Mobility Global Expo 2025, i.e., January 17. However, ahead of its launch, the company has already revealed the design, features, and range of the new Creta Electric. The first look of the new Creta Electric closely resembles the Creta ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) model.

However, being an electric variant, several EV-specific design elements have been added to the Creta. Let us take you through the differences in design and features between the diesel-petrol Hyundai Creta and the electric Creta.

There haven’t been many changes in the front-end design of both cars. Both the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and EV (Electric Vehicle) variants of the Creta feature connected LED DRLs positioned above stacked LED headlamps. Hyundai’s logo is present on the front end of both models. The electric Creta includes a charging port at the front and comes with a closed grille, whereas the ICE variant features a larger grille. Both variants of the Creta share a similar silhouette. The Creta Electric is equipped with new 17-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels, giving it a slightly sportier look compared to the ICE version.

Interior

There isn’t much difference between the dashboards of the diesel-petrol Creta and the electric Creta. The Creta Electric features a black-and-white themed dashboard, while the ICE Creta comes with a grey-and-white color theme. The steering wheels of both cars are also different. The Creta EV gets a 3-spoke steering wheel, whereas the ICE-powered Creta features a 4-spoke steering wheel. The ICE Creta includes controls like a gear lever, two cupholders, an electronic parking brake, and seat ventilation buttons. Similarly, the Creta EV also comes with controls like a drive mode dial, two cupholders, and seat ventilation buttons.

Features

The Hyundai Creta Electric comes loaded with a host of advanced features. It includes advanced climate control, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, a 10.25-inch dual-screen setup with HD infotainment, a digital instrument cluster, a cooled glove box, voice commands, and a panoramic sunroof.

Additionally, the new Creta EV introduces an In-car Payment feature, allowing users to pay for battery charging directly from the infotainment screen while seated in the car. This feature can be used at 1,150 EV charging stations across India. The new Hyundai Creta EV also offers a Digital Key feature, enabling users to lock, unlock, and start the car using their smartphone or smartwatch.

Moreover, the Creta EV comes equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), regenerative braking, dual-camera dashcam, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging, drive modes, a three-point seatbelt for rear seats, adjustable rear headrests, 60:40 split rear bench, and two-step recliner rear seats.

Safety

The Hyundai Creta diesel-petrol variants come equipped with safety features such as six airbags, a 360-degree camera, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). On the other hand, the electric Creta is equipped with Level-2 ADAS for enhanced safety.

In addition, the Hyundai Creta EV offers six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Auto Hold, Hill Hold Assist, ESC, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), ISOFIX child anchors, TPMS, rain-sensing wipers, and over 75 safety features in total.
