India’s Most Affordable Paddle Shifter Car – 19 km Mileage & 6 Airbags!

People trust automatic cars more than manual transmission vehicles. In heavy traffic, automatics are easier to use compared to MTs. However, to retain the feel of a manual gearbox, OEMs have also started offering paddle shifters in automatic cars. We have compiled a list of five such vehicles that offer paddle shifters at an affordable price.

Hyundai Exter

Hyundai offers its most affordable SUV with paddle shifters in the SX AMT variant, priced at ₹8.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 83 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. In terms of fuel efficiency, this micro-SUV delivers a claimed mileage of 19.2 km per liter with AMT.

Hyundai Exter

The Hyundai Exter comes equipped with a dual-camera dashcam, smart electric sunroof, wireless phone charger, automatic temperature control, smartphone connectivity, ambient nature sound, and a multilingual infotainment system. For safety, it offers six airbags, a rear-view camera, home-to-car connectivity, 3-point seatbelts, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Honda Amaze

The second car on our list is Honda's newly updated compact sedan, the Honda Amaze. The V CVT variant is available with paddle shifters, priced at ₹9.20 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque.

Tata Nexon

The third car on our list is Tata Motors' 5-star safety-rated SUV, the Tata Nexon. It is priced at ₹9.60 lakh (ex-showroom). You can buy the Smart Plus AMT variant with paddle shifters. The Nexon is available with two engine options:

1. 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine (120 PS/170 Nm)
2. 1.5-liter diesel engine (118 PS/260 Nm)

Tata Punch EV

The Tata Punch EV is India's most affordable electric car with paddle shifters. Customers can purchase the Smart Plus variant for ₹11.14 lakh (ex-showroom). It features a 25 kWh battery pack paired with a front-axle-mounted (FWD) electric motor, producing 82 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. It has a claimed range of 265 km.

Maruti Brezza

The fifth car on our list is the Maruti Brezza, which recently received standard 6 airbags. It is available with paddle shifters in the VXi AT variant, priced at ₹11.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The Brezza is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, generating 103 PS of power and 137 Nm of torque.
