Tata Nexon, a compact SUV that has already made a mark in the Indian market, is set to launch a new attractive variant soon into their array.
The Tata Nexon currently offers strong build quality and cost-effective engine options in both fuel options i.e. petrol and diesel. However, Tata Motors is going to introduce the CNG variant of the Nexon model, which is expected to hit the roads by the end of 2024.
Tata Nexon CNG variant is undergoing rigid testing on the roads, to meet the high expectations of Indian consumers. Here we are sharing some features of the upcoming CNG variant of the Nexon model. The Tata Nexon CNG variant will come with a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine known for its performance and mileage. In petrol mode, this engine delivers 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque, but there might be a slight reduction in these figures when running on CNG.
The car gurus estimate that the power output in CNG mode will be around 100 bhp and 150 Nm of torque, which despite a slight decrease, will not significantly affect the car's mileage and performance. Firstly, Tata planned to launch the car with a 6-speed manual gearbox but later on, they planned to launch it with an AMT automatic gearbox variant as well.
This means, Tata Motors could offer two options for Indian car users, keeping in mind their habit of driving all kinds of cars. The Tata Nexon is already quite popular in India's compact SUV (less than 4 meters) segment. One reason for this is its powerful engine available in petrol, diesel, and electric options.
Soon, it will also have the option of CNG, making it even more affordable and environmentally friendly. The introduction of the CNG option will prove to be an excellent choice for Indian drivers, making the Nexon even better.
Tata will start to compete in the CNG segment with other companies like Maruti Suzuki which already launched Brezza in the CNG segment. With the CNG option, Tata is increasing their options for Indian customers who looking for affordable and environment friendly cars.
