The rising prices of diesel and petrol are prompting more people to switch to electric vehicles (EVs) for daily use. EVs are not only cost-effective but also environmentally friendly, which is why most auto manufacturers are introducing electric cars.
In this line, Mahindra is also making significant strides. After creating a buzz with the launch of the XUV400 EV last year, the company has announced another upcoming electric car. Yes, the electric variant of the Mahindra XUV 3XO will be launched in the near future.
To strengthen its EV lineup, Mahindra is working hard. It is worth mentioning that the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) variant of the XUV 3XO was launched earlier this year in April. The electric variant is expected to be introduced by 2025.
Production to Start in November
According to sources, the upcoming new electric car is codenamed S240. Production is expected to begin in November this year, with a plan to manufacture approximately 1,500 to 1,800 units per month.
However, there is no official information from the company regarding this. The design of the new electric car will be similar to the XUV3XO, with some changes expected in the interior and color options.
Key Features of the Mahindra XUV 3XO Electric Car
According to reports, the XUV 3XO Electric will feature a 34.5 kWh battery pack. It will offer less power and range compared to the XUV400 EV. The expected ex-showroom price for this electric car is around ₹15 lakh.
Currently, the new Mahindra XUV 3XO is creating quite a buzz in the compact SUV segment. In May, the car sold 10,510 units, and in June, it sold 8,834 units. The ex-showroom price of the XUV 3XO SUV ranges from ₹7.49 lakh to ₹15.49 lakh.
This car is available with a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine, a 1.2-liter TGDI turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The Mahindra XUV 3XO offers a mileage of 17.96 to 21.2 km per liter.
