MG's latest Windsor EV is creating a buzz in the Indian market. In October, this EV surpassed all major competitors in sales. Yes, until now, Tata’s Nexon EV was the best-selling electric car. However, with 3,116 units sold last month, the new Windsor EV has taken the top spot.
The starting ex-showroom price of the new MG Windsor is just ₹9.99 lakh. However, this price does not include the cost of the battery. MG has introduced a BaaS (Battery as a Service) program for its EV range, allowing customers to rent the battery separately. For this, users need to pay ₹3.5 per kilometer.
MG Windsor EV Battery and Range
The MG Windsor EV has a 38kWh battery pack, offering a range of approximately 332 km on a single charge. It also comes with a 45kW DC charger and a fast-charging system, which charges the battery from 10% to 80% in just 55 minutes.
Luxury Features
The MG Windsor EV boasts a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, keyless entry, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, and a wireless phone charging port. It also offers four driving modes: Eco, Eco Plus, Normal, and Sport.
The new Windsor EV also ensures passenger safety, offering six airbags (standard), a 360-degree camera, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) among other advanced safety features.
MG Windsor EV Variants and Pricing
The new electric CUV is available in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. The starting ex-showroom price of the Windsor EV is ₹9.99 lakh, going up to ₹15.50 lakh.
It is available in four exterior color options: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green.
The MG Windsor EV competes directly with the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV.
