Tata Curvv EV will be launched before petrol-diesel variants.

The Tata Motors Curvv was eagerly awaited. Initially, it was supposed to be launched in the first half of 2024, but the date has now been postponed. It is expected that the electric version, Curvv EV, will be launched in September this year.

This change in the launch timeline was revealed by Autocar India. According to them, the electric model of the Tata Curvv will now be launched first, followed by the petrol and diesel models.

Tata has planned to launch the Curvv in the same successful manner as they did with the Nexon EV and Punch EV. The company also wants to ensure that the production and delivery of its existing vehicles run smoothly before bringing the new model to the market.

When Tata Motors was asked about this delay, no response has been received yet. It is worth mentioning that at the India Mobility Show 2024, Tata Motors showcased a near-production model of the Curvv. It is based on a significantly updated version of the Nexon platform.

It has a design similar to the Nexon, but it includes some special features typical of electric vehicles to set it apart. However, Tata's new Curvv is significantly larger than the Nexon, meaning it will offer more interior space.

First, it will feature Tata's new 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine with 123bhp. For those who prefer diesel, it will also have the 1.5-liter engine from the Nexon. It's possible that a CNG option might be introduced later as well.

Tata is using its second-generation acti.ev technology for the electric Curvv. This car claims to have a range of 450 to 500 kilometers on a full charge, but more detailed information is yet to be revealed.

With these options, Tata Motors aims to sell approximately 80,000 units of the Curvv annually, including all engine variants. They expect to sell around 2,000 units of the electric version and about 5,000 units of the petrol and diesel versions each month.

We are all eagerly awaiting the official launch of the Tata Curvv, but its slight delay is a deliberate strategy by the company to manage production speed and market conditions simultaneously.

With various engine options, the Curvv is a fantastic addition to Tata Motors' lineup. This car will offer something special for every SUV enthusiast.
