Upcoming 4x4 SUVs: Ready to Conquer Highways and Rough Terrains

The demand for 4WD vehicles in the Indian auto market is steadily increasing, and this trend is expected to create significant activity in the coming years. Car manufacturers like Mahindra, Tata, Toyota, MG, and Jeep are gearing up to launch new 4X4 SUVs. Let's take a look at some of these upcoming models.

Mahindra Thar Roxx 4X4

Apart from the 4×4 version, prices for all other variants of the Mahindra Thar Roxx have already been revealed. The premium lineup includes the 4WD Thar Roxx, which will be equipped with a 2.2L four-cylinder mHawk diesel engine.

Test drives for this model will begin on September 14, and bookings will open on October 3. The prices for the 4×4 variant will be announced on the same day. Mahindra has also opened registration to auction the first model of the Thar Roxx.

Tata Harrier EV

Tata recently launched the Curve EV in India, which marks a significant step in its electric vehicle portfolio. Following this, the Harrier EV is set to be introduced in early 2025. It will be equipped with dual electric motors, sending power to all four wheels.

Toyota Fortuner MHEV

The Toyota Fortuner is already available in several international markets. This variant combines the existing GD diesel engine with an electric motor and a small battery pack. This will enhance acceleration, improve fuel efficiency, and reduce emissions due to the hybrid powertrain. While Toyota has not officially confirmed its launch in India, the Fortuner MHEV is highly likely to debut in 2025.

MG Gloster Facelift

JSW MG Motor India is preparing to introduce a facelifted version of the MG Gloster before the end of this year. This full-size SUV will receive visual updates along with changes to its interior. It will also come with new features and more advanced technology.

Jeep Compass and Meridian

Jeep India is planning to launch mid-life updates for both the Compass and Meridian during the festive season. However, these updates will primarily focus on cosmetic changes and new features, with no expected mechanical updates.
