BMW has unveiled the new generation of its M5 luxury sedan, now featuring a plug-in hybrid powertrain, making it the most powerful M5 ever. The new BMW M5 retains its robust engine, but now includes an electric motor integrated into its gearbox. This addition makes the car more powerful and potent than before.
New BMW M5 Engine
The new model retains the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine but now features an electric motor integrated into its 8-speed automatic transmission, similar to the one in the XM SUV.
Overall, this system produces 724bhp of power and 1001Nm of torque, which is delivered to all four wheels through BMW's M Drive rear-biased all-wheel-drive system.
New BMW M5 Electric Range
The new BMW M5 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. Its top speed is limited to 250 km/h, but it can be increased to 305 km/h with the optional M Driver's Package.
However, this new model is approximately 500 kilograms heavier than its predecessors due to the addition of the motor and battery, which increases its weight.
New BMW M5 Mileage
It features an 18.6kWh battery that, when fully charged, can provide a range of 67 to 69 kilometers according to the WLTP measurement. Its maximum speed can reach up to 140 km/h. It can be charged with an AC charger up to 7.4kW.

The new BMW M5 comes with many impressive features, including BMW's curved display. It also has a beautiful M leather steering wheel, which is flat at the bottom and can be adjusted electrically.

Additionally, this car features special M light alloy wheels. The size of these wheels is 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. These wheels are equipped with high-performance tires, which enhance the car's speed and handling.
New BMW M5 Price
Its starting price in the UK is approximately ₹1.17 crore. It is expected that deliveries will begin by the end of this year. However, there is no official information yet regarding its launch in India, but it is expected to arrive next year.
