The Newly Launched Kia EV9 features

Kia, a popular car manufacturer, has launched its second electric vehicle (EV), the EV9, in the Indian market. The new Kia EV9 comes with a luxurious interior and an impressive driving range. It has also become the most expensive car in Kia's India lineup. Let me share its price, features, and specifications with you.

Price and Variants

The new Kia EV9 is priced at ₹1.30 crore (ex-showroom). It is offered only in a 6-seater layout with the GT-Line trim. In India, it will be sold as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), meaning it will be imported from abroad.

Design

The Kia EV9 electric car features a blanked-off grille with integrated LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) and vertical LED headlights. Additionally, the SUV comes with LED taillights, flush-fitting door handles, a new wheel arch design, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The overall look of the car is boxy.

Dimensions

The new Kia EV9 electric car measures 5,015 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,100 mm. It offers a ground clearance of 200 mm, and the wheels range from 20 to 22 inches in size.

Features                   

Talking about the interior features of the new Kia EV9, it comes with powered captain seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen and instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, dual electric sunroofs, a head-up display, a digital inside rear-view mirror, vehicle-to-load functionality, a 14-speaker Meridian audio system, digital key, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and Kia's connected-car technology.

Safety Features

For passenger safety, the new Kia EV9 is equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) along with 10 airbags, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), downhill brake control, rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, and a 360-degree camera. ADAS includes forward collision warning and avoidance assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, and lane keep assist. The electric SUV has already received a 5-star safety rating in both the Euro NCAP and Asian NCAP crash tests.

Power and Performance

The new Kia EV9 is powered by a 99.8kWh battery pack that offers a range of 561 km. The dual motor setup generates 379 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. With a 350kW DC charger, it can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 24 minutes. The EV9 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. In addition to being feature-packed, the new electric SUV also has off-roading capabilities, making it suitable for mountain trips as well.
